The following incidents were culled from reports filed by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Prowling--Jan. 8, 6:52 p.m. A man was arrested for prowling on the 300 block of W. Java in Sunnyvale. He was cited at the scene and released.
Prostitution--Jan. 8, 9:10 p.m. A woman was cited and released for soliciting prostitution on the 900 block of W. El Camino.
Petty theft--Jan. 8, 4:03 p.m. A man caught on closed-circuit television inside a fitting room at the JCPenny store at 300 S. Sunnyvale Ave. was cited and released for shoplifting. The man walked out of the fitting room with more than he walked in with, prompting security guards to stop him on his way out. He paid for one shirt, then was stopped, and it was discovered he had stuffed a pair of pants into his sweatpants.
Counterfeiting--Jan. 6, 4:30 p.m. A man was pulled over on a routine stop for expired registration by a public safety officer, who discovered the man had a white 1998 registration sticker in his car. The driver admitted to the tag being computer-generated and was taken to county jail.
Burglary--Jan. 7. A man was arrested on the 500 block of South Sunnyvale Avenue on felony charges of posession of drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic needle, being under the influence of drugs, holding an expired driver's license, criminal conspiracy and burglary. He was taken to Santa Clara County Main Jail.
