    Obituary

    Donald E. Koreski

Donald E. Koreski, a former mayor of Sunnyvale, died on Dec. 10.

He founded Regency Realty in 1953 and was sole owner until he retired in 1980. He was chairman of the committee to raise money to build St. Martins Catholic School and sometimes drove the school bus when they had no driver. He joined the Sunnyvale Lions Club in the '50s and was elected president. In 1959 he was appointed to the Sunnyvale Planning Commission and then to the City Council, where he served for 13 years, with two terms as mayor. He retired in 1980 to hunt and fish on property he owned in Modoc county, says his wife, Linda Koreski.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Koreski of Brookings, Ore.; son Robert Koreski of Reston, Va.; son David Koreski of Pleasant Hill; stepson Mark Barnes of Sunnyvale; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Janis Carducci.

Memorial services have been held. The family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Los Altos.
