Lack of pedestrian walks not conducive to safety

Your readers may appreciate a report on a strange omission in the design of the new mall parking structure at Iowa and Sunnyvale avenues.

The building has entrances for vehicles on the two sides that face the mall--but NO pedestrian walks for the people who park their cars in it.

Anyone who walks in or out of the parking structure is forced to share the roadway with vehicles--as are children in strollers and occupants of wheelchairs.

There is no railing or other barrier to separate pedestrians from cars. Does this comply with current codes? An interview with the Sunnyvale Planning Department might provide material for an interesting article in The Sun.
