    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

    Auto Burglary--Jan. 9, 1:20 p.m., 100 block West Olive Avenue. An officer was on patrol when he noticed a car with its driver's-side window smashed. The officer contacted the victim, who said she had parked and locked the car on the street the day before. Only when the police officer contacted her did she realized her car had been broken into. The glove compartment had been rummaged through, but no property was missing.

    Obtaining Controlled Substances by Fraud--Jan. 9, 10:32 a.m., 1300 block S. Mary Avenue. The suspect fraudulently ordered a Vicadin prescription over the phone, using false identification. When the suspect went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription, she was asked to present ID. She then fled the store. The pharmacist followed the suspect outside and observed her getting into her vehicle. The suspect was contacted at home. She confessed to the crime and also to other fraudulent prescriptions in the county.

    Auto Burglary--Jan. 9, 10:32 a.m., 900 block Pinto Palm Terrace. Officer responded to a theft. According to the victim, his vehicle was parked and locked in front of his residence. When he returned to it a day later, he discovered that the driver's-side window was dismantled and the CD player was removed. His amplifier, speakers, and CD's were also stolen. The victim estimated his loss at $2175. The interior of the car was also ruined.

    Battery--Dec. 19, 9:30 a.m., 600 block of Belville Way. An apartment manager saw a transient who had just used the complex pool standing on the grass in front of the buildings. The subject had previously been warned not to come back to the property. The manager told the suspect to leave. The suspect said that he didn't have to leave and that nobody was going to tell him what to do. He then pushed the manager..
