By Dick Sparrer

It was anybody's basketball game.

Fremont had taken an early lead against Monta Vista in last Friday night's game, but the Firebirds led by just a point heading into the fourth period against the Monta Vista boys.

So it sure looked like anybody's ballgame. But the Firebirds didn't think so... and they went out and proved it in the final quarter.

Fremont topped Monta Vista 19-9 in that fourth quarter to claim a 49-38 victory over the Matadors in the El Camino Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.

Sophomore guard Glenn Marasigan and junior Cameron McNeil each scored in double digits to spark the Firebirds to the 11-point win.
