Crime Stoppers is a cooperative effort by the local media, the San Jose Police Department, and a citizen board of directors. Once a week an unsolved police case is presented to the public. Citizens are urged to call 947-STOP if they have information on any serious crime. Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
The San Jose Police Department is asking for help in locating a wanted felon and parole violator.
San Jose Police Violent Crime Unit investigators are looking for Terry Wayne Sakamoto, a 26-year-old male of mixed Japanese and Hispanic descent. His date of birth is May 2, 1970. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has short black hair and brown eyes. Sakamoto has numerous tattoos on various parts of his body. Police say he has strong gang affiliations in this area and an extensive arrest record. Sakamoto is currently wanted on a felony, no-bail warrant for violation of parole. His previous address was in south San Jose.
