    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Auto Burglary--Jan. 7, 7 a.m., 200 block of E. El Camino Real. The victim parked and secured his vehicle on Jan. 6. A neighbor discovered that the vehicle had been broken into on Jan. 7. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver's side window with an unknown object. The suspect stole a briefcase worth $150 from the backseat.

    Possession of Marijuana--Jan. 8, 9:50 p.m. Intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Wolfe Road. The suspect was pulled over for driving with the headlights off during darkness. When contact with the driver was made, the officer detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to be smoking and being in possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. The driver was cited and released.

    Attempted Burglary-Force--Jan. 14, 4:55 p.m., 200 block of E. El Camino Real. An officer was dispatched to investigate an attempted burglary at the above location. The officer contacted the victim, who stated that an unknown suspect used channel locks to attempt entry into the back door deadbolt. The suspect is still at large.

    Grand Theft--Jan. 15, 9:15 p.m., 400 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. On the above date between 8:15 and 9:15 p.m., the unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's locker in a gym and stole one gold engraved wedding band with diamonds worth $1,000, one pair of jeans worth $15 and a set of car keys.
