    Local Little League teams holding annual sign-ups

    Local Little Leagues are currently holding registration for the upcoming baseball season. Players ages 5-12 are eligible, with divisions ranging from T-ball (for those youngsters who reach age 5 by July 31) to the major division (for those players not older than 12).

    Leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale also offer upper-division age groups including the junior division (13-14), senior division (15-16) and Big League (17-18). Girls softball is also offered by leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale.

    At registrations, players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, provide a birth certificate. Proof of residency may be required. All players must reside within league boundaries

    Local leagues holding sign-ups this month include:

    Sunnyvale National Little League--Sign-ups for players to age 18 for baseball and softball will be held Saturdays, through Jan. 26, 9 a.m.-noon at the Washington Park Rec Building, and Wednesdays, through Jan. 30, 6-8 p.m. at the Senior Center, Washington and McKinley avenues.     Sunnyvale Southern Little League--Sign-ups for players to age 18 for baseball and softball will be held Saturdays, through Jan. 26, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the DeAnza Park Rec Building. For more information, contact Bob Kinder (408.738.1992 or visit www.ssll.org).
