Senior day care now available at two local centers
Seniors who enjoy a slower pace of life, or who need a little more care, can join their contemporaries each day for a hot lunch and activities at either the Cupertino or the Sunnyvale Senior Day Centers.
The centers are safe and pleasant places to spend the day, and offer gentle exercises, music, crafts, movies and news discussions. The staff has 18 years of experience in caring for seniors.
The centers are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. For more information call the Cupertino center at 973-0905 or the Sunnyvale center at 746-3066.
Camp Fire kids sell candy to help organization
Sunnyvale Camp Fire Boys and Girls groups kicked off the organization's annual candy sale last weekend and will be going door-to-door and selling in front of local supermarkets through Feb. 21.
The candy sale is the main way Camp Fire pays for its wide variety of groups and activities for young people. Boys and girls from all over Santa Clara County are participating in the sale.
Half the money goes to the local Camp Fire council, with a percentage distributed to each child's group.
For more information on how to support Camp Fire through the candy sale, or about the organization itself, call 296-6969.
