Monta Vista student arrested for allegedly sending faculty member a threatening email
After a week and a half investigation, officers for the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office arrested a Monta Vista High School student the morning of Jan. 26 for sending a threatening email to a faculty member and threatening to detonate bombs at the school's offices, according to police and school officials.
"We very well may go for an expulsion in this case," Fremont Union High School District assistant superintendent Mike Hawkes said. According to Lt. Stan Neugebauer, the student, who is a minor, is being held at juvenile hall. Neugebauer also said the student allegedly made threats to harm the faculty member's family.
"It was almost like dealing with a stalker," Hawkes said. "You just didn't know where it (the email) was coming from."
