Soccer tryouts
The De Anza Force, a girls under-11 CYSA District 2 soccer team, will hold tryouts for the 2000 spring and fall seasons on Feb. 5, 10 a.m.-noon, and Feb. 8, 4-5:30 p.m., at Hoover Field.
The Force will play Class 3 soccer in the spring and Class 1 in the fall. Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursdays, 4-5:30 p.m., under the direction of trainer Paul Lester, the head coach of the women's soccer team at UC-Santa Cruz.

SV Roadrunners soccer tryouts
The Sunnyvale Roadrunners, a Class 1 girls under-14 soccer team, will hold tryouts on Feb. 5 and 6, 10 a.m.-noon, at Cupertino Middle School. For more information, call 408.733.3757.
Lakewood baseball
Lakewood Youth Baseball, a Pony program now in its 42nd year of competition, will hold signups for players ages 5-12 on Wednesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Lakewood Park Building.
Everyone who signs up will play, and all players receive a participation trophy at the end of the season.
Teams begin forming Feb. 19, and the league is also looking for coaches and sponsors.
