Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Auto Theft--Jan. 24, 8:15 a.m. 1200 Wildwood. A car was broken into, resulting in $890 worth of stolen property.

Embezzlement--Jan. 18, 3 p.m. 300 Sunnyvale Ave. A 22-year-old male employee at JC Penney worked in cahoots with a female suspect to embezzle $315 in cash from the retail store.

Possession for Sale--Jan. 27, 5:15 p.m. 2000 Royal Ridge. A 19-year-old male was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Theft--Jan. 27, 11:39 a.m. 300 Sunnyvale Ave. A male suspect removed the price tag from a baseball cap and put the cap on his head and tried to leave the store. Once in custody, it was revealed the suspect was in possession of fraudulent social security and resident alien cards. The suspect said he bought the phony identification in Palo Alto last year for $50.

Theft--Jan. 25, 4:30 p.m. 500 N. Mathilda Ave. A mover who was removing items from a business tucked a laptop computer under his shirt. When the mover was leaving the business, the laptop, valued at $800, fell to the floor. The suspect was arrested.

Possession--Jan. 24, 5:45 p.m. 1100 W. El Camino Real. A 30-year-old male was stopped when a known prostitute was witnessed entering his car. During a consent search, marijuana was found in the vehicle. The suspect was cited and released.

Prowling--Jan. 25, 12:16 a.m. 700 Golden Oak. A 40-year-old man was arrested for prowling and peeping.
