Parts of downtown Sunnyvale to close for redevelopment

Starting Feb. 11, some streets in the Town and Country area will be closed for a few days at a time for the next few months due to construction. All downtown businesses will remain open during the continued construction phases. An additional 75 downtown parking spaces, previously set aside for valet parking, will be reallocated for public use when complimentary valet parking ends on Feb. 6. New downtown parking ambassadors will walk around downtown during busy times to answer questions and help direct visitors to convenient parking.

For more information about street closures in the downtown area, call the hotline at 408.737.4900 or visit the website at www.ci.sunnyvale.ca.us/downtown.

    Leadership training continues Feb. 16

The Sunnyvale Leadership Development Institute will offer leadership education opportunities to alumni and members of the community at large. The classes are designed to augment leadership skills, while connecting with alumni, business and community leaders and elected officials.

The class "Cultural Competency--How Culturally Competent are We in this Changing World?" will be held on Feb. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
