Roberts decision still pending
The District Attorney's office has yet to decide whether or not to press charges against Sunnyvale Councilmember Jim Roberts for incidents that allegedly occurred on the night of Dec.15. Surjit Singh, a cab driver, claimed that Roberts hit him and did not pay his fare. Roberts was arrested and charged with battery, defrauding the driver and public drunkenness. District Attorney David Howe says that the DA has up to one year from the date of the crime to decide whether or not to press charges. Howe says he expects a decision much sooner. He had previously said a decision would be made by the end of January.
