Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.
Burglary--Jan. 24, 6:17 p.m., 100 block of E. El Camino Real. The suspect entered a sports store at the above location. He stole $459.97 worth of merchandise and ran out the front door. A salesperson got into a foot pursuit with the suspect. The suspect actively resisted, causing injury to the salesperson.
Petty Theft--Services Under $400--Jan. 24, 8:35 a.m., 900 block of W. El Camino Real. An officer responded to a report of a theft of services at an automotive servicing store at the above location. The representative at the store stated that he serviced a customer's car and she left without paying.
Auto Burglary--Jan. 24, 12:56 p.m., 100 block of S. Bernardo Road. On Jan. 24 at 8:20 a.m. the victim found that someone had broken into his car. The unknown suspect(s), once inside the victim's vehicle, removed and stole an AM/FM/CD car stereo worth $75 and a green children's binder with some paperwork worth $25. The victim went to a morning appointment, returned to the apartment and then called the police.
Burglary--Storage Shed--Jan. 24, 9:02 a.m., 1000 block of Reed Avenue. Between 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 and 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, an unknown suspect committed burglary from a storage shed at the above location. Taken from the shed were one washing machine worth $600 and one power-blower backpack worth $200.
