Suspect is arrrested in an extentsive burglary spree

    By Jana Seshadri

Sunnyvale police arrested 19-year-old Paul Geib with a felony warrant on drug charges, but he was booked on seven counts of burglary, one count each of possession of stolen property, passing a bad check and forgery. Geib is suspected of committing a series of burglaries at the Sunnyvale Community Center and medical offices in the Remington Drive area.

According to Captain Byron Pipkin of the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department, officer Jose Ramirez received a call from Clyde's Liquors in Sunnyvale after Geib allegedly tried to pass a bad check several days before his arrest. Officers arrested Geib at his apartment on Jan. 20.

Pipkin said a search of the apartment revealed stolen property from medical offices in Mountain View and Sunnyvale and several building keys. Public safety detectives determined that the keys belonged to the Sunnyvale Community Center and had been stolen from the center in a burglary several months earlier. According to Pipkin, the center has been burglarized six different times in the last two months.

"After his preliminary hearing a trial date will be set," Pipkin said.
