    After school pals

The City of Sunnyvale's Parks and Recreation Department announced plans for a new class for children with disabilities, entitled, "After School Pals." Katie Crowder, the program's coordinator, says the class will feature games, arts and crafts, social activities and story telling.

"The program is unique to the area because it offers mainstream group play for children with and without disabilities," said Crowder. The class debuts March 7 and runs to May 4. Classes will be held at the De Anza Park Building, 1150 Lime Drive, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost is $72 for Sunnyvale residents and $84 for nonresidents. Call 730-7359 for details.

    Feedback sought

Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation is undertaking an evaluation of its Community Theater Program. Residents are invited to complete a five minute survey on the service. Surveys may be picked up at the Community Center, the library, the Columbia Neighborhood Center, and the Chamber of Commerce. They also are on the internet at www.ci.sunnyvale.ca.us/theatre-survey.asp. Deadline for surveys is March 3. Completed surveys will be included in a drawing for two tickets to the 2001 season of Evenings of Cultural Arts.

The Valley Transportation Authority is holding two nearby meetings to encourage public input in the Valley

Transportation Plan 2020. The meetings will focus on updating and developing the plan, which is a long-range approach to address the transportation needs of the county for the next 20 years. The plan will prioritize projects, land use, and policies. The first meeting is February 17 in Campbell's City Hall Council Chambers at 70. N. First Street, Campbell. The second is on February 23 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, Second Stage at 500 Castro Street, Mountain View. Both meetings run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
