Classroom causes delays for commuters

Housing plan draws fire

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Burglary--Feb. 4, 8:00 p.m., 1600 block of Queen Charlotte Drive. A suspect used a lock punch tool to gain entry into the victim's locked vehicle. The suspect removed money without the permission of the owner. The vehicle was dusted for fingerprints. Two prints were obtained and placed in the fingerprint file.

    Fallen Tree--Feb. 3. 8:30 a.m., 700 block of Reseda Drive. Public Safety Officers responded to a report of a fallen city tree. Upon arrival, the officer noted a tree uprooted from the ground and resting on top of the victim's vehicle. A city crew was called in to remove the tree. Once removed, the officer observed damage to the trunk and top of vehicle. There were no signs of vandalism.

    Burglary--Feb. 2, 10:00 p.m., 900 block of Chehalis Drive. An unknown suspect used a knife to cut through the convertible top of a car to gain entry into a locked vehicle. The suspect removed speakers and damaged the dashboard in an attempt to remove the stereo. There were no fingerprints. The stolen merchandise was valued at $130.00.

    Petty Theft--Feb. 2, 6:20 p.m., 100 block of E. Fremont Avenue. While the victim was working out at a fitness center, he put his personal belongings in a locker secured by his personal combination lock. As he was exercising, an unknown suspect forced the door open and removed a wallet and its contents from the rear pants pockets. Three credit cards and the wallet were stolen.

    Vandalism--Feb. 1, 8:00 a.m., 1600 block of Ontario Drive. The victim is an owner of apartment buildings in the area. A tenant called him and reported finding some graffiti in the carport. An unknown suspect painted "Jue" on the door of a storage locker.
