    Rugby signups

    The Silicon Valley Rugby Football Club is looking for high school-age players (14-18) from the Sunnyvale area. Players will be trained, so no experience is necessary

    Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays. League play begins Feb. 18 and runs through April with matches to be played on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.

    Adult softball

    The Sunnyvale Recreation Department is now accepting teams for the spring adult softball season. The registration fee is $370 per team, plus $10 for each non-resident. For more information, call 408.730.7334.

    South Bay Soccer

    The South Bay Youth Soccer League is holding spring signups for boys and girls in the under-6 through under- 17 age groups. Signups are held Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the stadium snack bar at the Campbell Community Center.

    The cost is $65 per player, with discounts available for siblings. The season runs from mid-March through June, with games played on Saturdays.

    The league is also offering a soccer clinic for parents and coaches.

    Sunnyvale soccer

    The Sunnyvale AYSO will hold signups for the spring and fall seasons for players ages 4-18 on Feb. 22, 7-9 p.m., at the Ponderosa Park Building.

    Practice will begin in mid-March and the season ends the first week of June.

    Players must provide a copy of their birth certificate, emergency information and a wallet-size photo, or a 1999 player pass.

    The cost is $40 per player for the spring season, $50 for the fall season or $80 for both.

    Challenger baseball

    Little League District 44 has announced registration for its challenger division for the 2000 spring season.

    Signups are for physically and mentally disabled youngsters, ages 7-17. Registration is free. Play is from March to June. For more information, call Ken or Anneliese Jones at 408.615.8807.
