    One man's trash is another man's treasure at RAFT


    Four years ago, Mary Simon got the idea that all the cast-offs, returns, overruns and surplus materials that Silicon Valley companies have trouble getting rid of could become a major boon to local teachers, and ultimately, children. The result of her idea is the Resource Area for Teachers (RAFT), which collects and distributes these donated materials for teachers to use to create math, science and art projects.   More
