Lady Dons win title

Jane Riley poured in 28 points in two games to lead the De Anza Community College women's basketball team to back-to-back wins in Coast Conference play last week.

The two victories left the Lady Dons 13-1 in the conference and alone in first place. They'll open play in the Northern California playoffs Feb. 28 with a 28-6 season record.

Riley tossed in 18 points to spark the Dons to a 73-48 win over the City College of San Francisco to open the week. Jaymie Woodard supported with 11 points for De Anza and Shana Buchanan added 10.

Bernadette Suffle chipped in with eight points, Jenny Miller had six, Jennifer Faiaipua five, Kam Simpson and Leslie Brown four apiece, Kerri Dunn three and Lisa Pesiri two.

Woodard came back with 14 points and Suffle and Selena Miller hit 12 apiece to lead the Lady Dons to an easy 77-39 win over Cabrillo. The Dons were up 41-9 at half time.

Riley joined the others in double digits with 10 points and J. Miller had eight, Judy Hofkins five, Pesiri and Simpson four apiece, Buchanan and Dunn three each and Laura Raffaelli two.

Dons upset Owls

Harold Bordenave tossed in 18 points to help the De Anza Community College men's basketball team come through with an impressive 65-55 upset win over Foothill in Coast Conference play last week.

But the Dons, 2-8 in conference play and 11-17 for the year, lost 80-59 to West Valley later in the week despite a 15-point effort by Bordenave.

Huse finished in double digits with 10 points and Haskett and Bryan Barnes added seven apiece. Karanastasis hit six points, O'Neal and Zaballos four each, and Glover and Lance Mune three each.
