    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Embezzlement--Feb. 20, 8:40 a.m., 1100 block of Bordeaux Drive. Two employees of a local temp agency wrote checks to themselves with no authorization from the company. The suspects signed and cashed the checks. The total of all the checks was $63,031.09. Both suspects were arrested and booked into county jail.

    Forgery/Fictitious Check--Feb. 19, 4:17 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. Suspect attempted to cash a fictitious check at a local bank. When the teller attempted to process the check, her computer indicated that the check was fraudulent. The branch manager contacted the account holder who indicated that the check was fictitious, and that numerous fraudulent transactions had occurred on the account in the last few days. The manager seized the suspect's driver's license and the fictitious check. The suspect is at large.

    Commercial Burglary--Feb. 9, 6:15 a.m., 100 block of S. Murphy Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) entered a local store, pried open the front register and stole $250 in cash. They also entered the office area and stole $1,000 in cash. Suspects were identified and arrested, and some of the money was recovered.

    Vandalism--Feb. 17, 10:50 p.m., 600 block of Harrow Way. Suspect(s) broke out lattice from a wooden arbor at the northeast corner of a local park.
