De Anza Optimist Club wins a top award
The DeAnza Optimist Club is savoring its Distinguished Club Award, presented in February by District Governor Dean Skeels at a district meeting in Sacramento.
Skeels explained that the first level for a club to win is an Honor Club Award, presented for adding new members and participation in service activities.
The Distinguished Club Award calls for service "above and beyond," Skeels said. The award recognized that the De Anza Optimist Club started a new club in Monterey.
