De Anza men's basketball falls
The De Anza Community College men's basketball team lost 64-56 in the first round of the community college state playoffs to finish the season with an 11-18 record.
Nick Glover pumped in 19 points to lead all De Anza scorers in the game, and Mike O'Neal joined him in double figures with 12 points.
Ed Huse tossed in eight points for the Dons, Harold Bordenave hit seven, J.B. Haskett four, and Aaron Zaballos and David Newberg three apiece. Glover, Haskett and Zaballos each buried three-pointers.
O'Neal and Bordenave each wrapped up the conference season by winning spots on the all-Coast Conference honorable mention list.
Adult volleyball, basketball sign-ups draw near
The registration deadline is March 14 for teams interested in participating in the Sunnyvale adult volleyball league spring program.
The nine-week season begins April 1 with leagues playing on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The registration fee is $210 per team, with an additional $10 charged for each non-Sunnyvale resident on the roster.
Sunnyvale is also holding signups for the upcoming adult basketball season. The registration deadline if March 21.
The 11-week season begins April 6 with leagues playing on Sunday through Thursday evenings. The registration fee is $510 per team, plus $10 for each nonresident.

Roller hockey league
The Northwest YMCA of Cupertino is now accepting signups for youngsters in grades K-8 interested in playing in its spring roller hockey league.
The league features coed play for kids in grades K-3, and divisions for boys and girls in grades 4-8. No scores or standings are kept in the league that emphasizes good sportsmanship, fair play and skill development.
League play begins April 5 and runs through June 7 and games are played Saturdays at the Northwest YMCA. The cost is $65 per player and a YMCA membership is required. For more information, call 257-7160.
