    Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Grand Theft--Feb. 24, 7 a.m., 1200 block Lakeside Drive. An unknown suspect opened the victim's unlocked tool box in the back of a truck. The suspect removed various tools while the owner was inside a restaurant eating breakfast. The man then fled. Given the number of people who had touched the box since the theft, the officer did not test for latent fingerprints.

Residential burglary--Feb. 23, 1 p.m., 800 block San Ramon Avenue. The victim was in her bedroom with her grandchildren when she heard a noise in the living room. Checking it out, she found the suspect standing by the TV, trying to disconnect the VCR. The suspect fled out of the back door.
