    Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Alcohol on School Grounds--Mar. 1, 11:50 a.m., Fremont High School. Public safety officers were called to the high school where three students were being held in custody for drinking tequila in the school bathroom. One of the suspects was questioned for an arson report in the same bathroom.

Influence of Heroin--Feb. 28, 5 p.m., 700 block of North Mathilda. Three suspects were approached in a Motel 6 room after officers suspected they were using heroin. One suspect was determined to be wanted by the Department of Corrections, and another was on parole. The other two were arrested without incident, and the third was not charged.

Prowling--Mar. 1, 11:15 p.m., 900 block of El Camino Real. A public safety officer spotted a 29-year-old male in the U-Haul parking lot who quickly stepped out from a truck and hid behind another. Suspect was arrested for prowling.

Outstanding Warrant--Feb. 18, 8:15 p.m., Carmel at San Luisto. An officer stopped a 35-year-old male in the parking lot of B&J's Supermarket because he matched the description of a robbery suspect. The suspect fled on a bicycle and evaded detention. He was later contacted and determined not to be the robbery suspect, but gave numerous false names and addresses to avoid arrest for an outstanding battery warrant.
