    Bouquets to Art

    The Sunnyvale Senior Center, in conjunction with the city of Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Department, is holding a trip showcasing spectacular flower arrangements and artwork on March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The trip will take participants to the California Palace of the Legion of Honor for Bouquets to Art, which will feature more than 100 elaborate floral designs, filling the museum to complement selected artwork. Bouquets to Art is one of the major fundraising events for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. Participants will also go to Tulipmania at Pier 39. Cost for the trip is $32 per person.     Norooz New Year's

    The Sunnyvale Public Library will host Norooz, the Iranian new year festival on March 14, at 7 p.m., 665 W. Olive Ave. The word Norooz means "new day" in the Persian, or Farsi, language, and the festival marks the beginning of the solar year, as well as the new year on the Iranian and several other national calendars. Payvand's Norooz presentation will include traditional Iranian dances performed by students of the Payvand Cultural School. The presentation will also illustrate the traditions and symbols of Norooz through storytelling and displays. For more information, call 408.730.7300.

    Lawn Bowls Club

    Wild West Walk-A-Thon

    Montclaire Elementary School will hold its annual walk-a-thon and silent auction on March 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school, 1160 St. Joseph Ave, Los Altos. The fundraising event is organized by the Montclaire Educational Foundation, and raised $85,000 last year for Montclaire, which is part of the Cupertino Union School District. Students, from kindergarten through sixth grade, will earn money from sponsors for each lap they walk around the school. The silent auction will feature more than 200 items, including a getaway to the Four Season's resort in Hawaii, Harry Potter paraphernalia, slumber party kits, Game Boy accessories and more. A live auction will be held at noon, featuring items such as a Santa Barbara getaway and a complete gymnastics party package at Gold Star Gymnastics. For more information, call 650.960.3601.

    Internet Training

    The Calabazas branch of the San Jose Public Library is offering free basic Internet training classes Mondays from 4 to 6 p.m., Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the library, 1230 Blaney Ave., San Jose.     Peninsula Symphony

    The Peninsula Symphony will perform on March 17, at 8 p.m. at the Flint Center in Cupertino. Included in the concert will be Brahms Violin Concerto, music from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet by Tchaikovsky and more. Tickets are $22. For more information, call 408.277.0595.
