Montalvo announces its 2000 performing arts season

For its 45th season, Villa Montalvo's Performing Arts Series not only offers a packed schedule of more than 150 performances from May 2000 through April 2001--it has also added two new venues.

Along with the Carriage House Theater, Garden Theater and Front Lawn--all at 15400 Montalvo Road,--and the Mountain Winery at 14831 Pierce Road, the series now includes 3,000 additional seats at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos and 800 seats at the Mission Church on Santa Clara University's campus.

The performances offer singers and bands in all musical genres as well as orchestras, dance troupes, guest speakers and poets and children's programs, such as puppet shows and whimsical theater.

Ticket sale proceeds support nonprofit Montalvo's internationally recognized Artist Residency Program, the Gallery at Montalvo and the Education Outreach Program. Among Montalvo's community outreach activities are children's matinees, performing arts lectures and demos, school assemblies and open studio days with resident artists.

Tickets for the general public go on sale April 14 at the Montalvo Box Office at 408.961.5858, online at www.villamontalvo.org and through Ticketmaster outlets in Rite Aid stores. Members of the Friends of Montalvo may order at various times in March, based on their membership level. The first two methods may also be used to request a Performing Arts 2000 brochure and to be added to the Villa Montalvo mailing list.
