    Skaters wanted

The city wants to know what skateboarders want. Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m. in the Community Center, officials from the Parks and Recreation department will be meeting to learn what type of facilities skaters want in a skateboard park. The city is in the midst of studying the feasibility of building a skateboard park and is examining the issue from all angles. Council will be presented with the results of the study on July 18. This is the opportunity for those who would use any park to sound off on what they want.

    Residents sought for boards

The City of Sunnyvale is searching for residents to fill 18 vacancies on nine advisory boards that advise the City Council on policy issues.

See the Giants, take the train to the new ball park

Caltrain will run a special schedule on days the San Francisco Giants play at home. Newly-constructed Pac Bell Park is only a short distance from Caltrain's San Francisco terminus. Caltrain will offer a special train before and after each of the 83 home games. On game days, it will also expand capacity on its regular trains from four or five cars to nine cars. Caltrains is also offering a 20-ride ticket for baseball fans. The ticket, valid from March 31 until Sept. 24, is good for 20 one-way trips at a 10 percent discount. It can only be used on days the Giants play at home.
