Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.
Residential Burglary--Feb. 27, 8:40 p.m., 1000 block Astoria Drive. The suspect had worked for the victim, but was fired for taking money from other employees at the apartment the workers shared. The suspect was told not to return to the apartment. However, the suspect returned, a former roommate let him in, and the man stole two mattresses.
Residential Burglary--Feb. 27, 11a.m., 200 block W. California Avenue. An unknown suspect entered the victim's apartment via the bedroom window. Once inside, the suspect took a video camera and some jewelry. The suspect exited via the front door and fled in an unknown direction. The victim estimated the loss at more than $1,100.
Burglary--March 4, 10a.m., 1000 block of Arques Avenue. The suspect entered the store, admittedly with the motivation to commit a theft. He had only $25.66 in cash on him and no credit cards. The lowest priced item he stole was a $40 PlayStation game. The suspect placed four games in his clothing and exited the store without attempting to pay for them. Store security arrested him.
