    Board should offer a counter-proposal

Now that the Sunnyvale Elementary School Board has officially rejected the charter school proposal by the Sunnyvale Intensive Learning Center, it is time for our school board to come back with a counter-proposal that will meet or exceed the expectations of the Sunnyvale parents. The counter-proposal must preserve certain key ideals: every class should have 20 or fewer students, every student should have an individualized learning plan, parents and teachers should have an equal voice with administration and teachers should be paid on a bonus system based on performance.

If our school board is sincere about improving public schools, then it should have provided solutions to the flaws in the original proposal, which can be viewed on-line at reality.sgi.com/csp/silcn.
