City holds contest for home recyclers
Sunnyvale wants to know about its citizens' home recycling habits.
Residents are asked to submit an essay that contains information about their recycling habits, including the types of items recycled, the means for getting the whole family to recycle, and the reason the family became interested in recycling. Ten winners will be honored by the City Council in April.
Essays should be submitted to City of Sunnyvale, Recycling Program, P.O. Box 3707, Sunnyvale, 94088, by March 29. Entries should appear on 8.5-by-11-inch paper and include your name, address and phone number.
"We want to make people aware that: one, [recycling] is a good thing; two, we appreciate it; and three, keep doing it," said Dorlene Russell, the city's recycling information specialist.
