    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Riding a Bike Under the Influence--March 17, 11:20 p.m., Intersection of Evelyn Avenue and Murphy Avenue. Through field coordination tests, suspect was determined too impaired by alcohol to safely operate his bicycle. Suspect was arrested and booked at DPS headquarters. He was later released after signing a promise to appear.

    Assault With a Deadly Weapon--March 17, 7 p.m., 700 block of Morse Avenue. Victim was hit on the left side of his head with a projectile that imbedded itself under his scalp. Victim knows of no suspect(s) or witness(es).

    Resisting Arrest--March 14, 9:05 p.m., 100 block of W. Persian Drive. Sunnyvale police responded to a local bar for a fight in progress. Upon arrival of police, contact was made with two subjects next to a damaged SUV in the middle of Persian Drive. Upon numerous commands to drop to the ground, suspect two made two aggressive movements towards officers while clenching his fist. Suspect two was struck twice with an ASP baton. Suspects one and two were eventually taken into custody. Suspect one was cited and released from VMC and suspect tow was booked into county jail.
