Teenagers weren't always 'so' cool

Humans need lessons in springtime conduct

I really don't understand how some people claim to be kind and compassionate in some way when they are so inconsiderate and cause such destruction and dismay to the wild birds and mammals around them.

Mobile home brokers and the management of the mobile home park I live in should be enlightened as to the meaning of spring to birds. Last spring, in order to add a few feet to a new mobile home being placed in the park, a stand of trees was violently ripped out and pulverized in grinding machines. What happened to the mother birds that frantically flew off in the face of such disaster? They returned when the crew sent in by these people was done, and flew around looking for their nests and babies, who most likely were ground up with the rest of the limbs and branches so carelessly thrown into the tree shredder.

If they had taken the trees a month or two before the birds had time to nest, this tragedy may not have happened. Trees should be trimmed, removed or cut back in the winter months, when tiny lives are not so bountiful.

I am dismayed at the scene I had to witness, as I have seen it repeated many times in the Valley. The unseeing bulldozers and machines ruthlessly kill and bury alive wild babies of all kinds. If humans cannot take a little time to be considerate of other forms of life, how can they expect to live in harmony with each other?
