Senior Center hosts lecture on fraud

Fraud and its impact will be discussed by Patty McRae of the consumer protection unit of the District Attorney's Office at an April 16 meeting at the Sunnyvale Multi-Purpose Senior Center at 820 W. McKinley Ave. The program begins at 1 p.m.

McRae will talk about phone fraud, telemarketing and automotive repair fraud.

Fremont High band needs new threads

The Fremont High School band needs more than $30,000 to buy 60 new uniforms and seeks public support. The new uniforms would replace ones that are more than 20 years old.

A tax-deductible contribution of $1,000 will sponsor one musician.

Contributors will receive a certificate of appreciation and have their company's name put on a plaque displayed at the school.

Sticks and stones

The Sunnyvale Creative Arts Center, in partnership with the Euphrat Museum of Art, will host an art exhibit called Perceptions through May 10.

The sculptural exhibit, featuring works by Mari Andrews and Patricia L. Jauch, utilizes found objects--some from nature, some manufactured.

The exhibit is open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
