Mike Stahmer fired a 6-over par 41 to lead the Fremont golf team to a 252-279 win over Oak Grove in a nonleague match last week.
Stahmer led the Firebirds to the win at the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course. Mike Cytron supported with a 45 and Sean Blaschke shot a 52. R.J. Beck finished with a 56.
The win left Fremont 2-4 for the year, but the Firebirds slipped to 2-5 and to 0-2 in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League when they lost 209-261 to Monta Vista two days later.
Stahmer carded a 43 on the par-36 Summit Point course, but it wasn't enough for Fremont. Cytron finished with a 52 and Blaschke shot a 53.
