Free guide to regional parks available
The Bay Area Open Space Council has released a guide to 47 regional parks and shoreline walks in the Bay Area that are accessible by public transit.
"Transit Outdoors" is a fold-up map that depicts parks, park trails, telephone numbers and transit connections. It includes a written description of how to reach each park and what visitors will find there.
The free maps are being distributed by transit and park districts throughout the Bay Area; copies are also available from the Greenbelt Alliance by calling (800) 543-GREEN.
Beights appointed VP of Marine group
Jeff Beights of Sunnyvale was appointed vice president of the Golden Gate Chapter, Third Marine Division Association.
Beights served in the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1977 and with the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, in 1975 and 1976.
