    Chamber holding business faire

    The Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce will stage Community Business Faire 2001, on April 6, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive, Sunnyvale. Some 40 to 50 exhibitors, will be on hand to provide information about Sunnyvale businesses.

    Along with the opportunity to meet Sunnyvale's business leaders, Business Faire attendees will have the chance to win door prizes, which have been donated by participating exhibitors.

    Free tickets are available at the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce. Without a free coupon, admission at the door is $5. A discount coupon will be available in the February and March issue of the Sunnyvale Chamber's newsletter.

    Vacancies on Advisory Board

    The city of Sunnyvale has 16 vacancies on nine of the city's advisory boards and commissions for interested citizens who would like to advise the city council on policy issues.

    Applicants are sought for the following: advisory council to the council on aging, arts commission, board of building code appeals, board of library trustees, heritage preservation commission, housing and human services commission, parks and recreation commission, personnel board and the planning commission.

    The deadline for applications is April 27 at 5 p.m. The council is scheduled to make its appointments in June. Recruitment information meetings will be held on April 2 and April 19 at 6 p.m. in the West Conference Room of City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave.

    Applicants must be registered voters living in Sunnyvale. Current city of Sunnyvale employees and their relatives are not eligible for appointment.
