Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.
Possession--March 19, 600 block N. Mathilda Avenue Officer contacted a suspect who was registered at a local hotel in order to conduct a probation search. The man was found to be sharing a room with his girlfriend. While conducting a search of his room, the officer found a controlled substance as well as a glass pipe used for smoking a controlled substance. Both were arrested without incident.
Vandalism--March 19, 10:00 a.m., 900 block Tamarack Lane. An unknown suspect spray-painted a vehicle parked at Tamarack Lane and Miramar Ave. The victim gave names of potential witnesses and suspects, all of whom were contacted and who stated they knew nothing. Damage was estimated at $200.
Burglary--March 18, 2:30 p.m., 1200 block W. Knickerbocker Drive. An unknown suspect broke into a car by breaking the passenger window. The suspect removed a compact disc case with approximately 30 compact discs. The suspect also attempted to pry the stereo out of the deck, but failed. Additionally, the suspect threw an egg at the vehicle, causing minor paint damage.
Petty Theft--March 18, 3:56 p.m., 200 block W. Washington Avenue. Suspect entered Macy's and concealed numerous clothing items in her shopping bag over a period of about two hours. The suspect was taken into custody without incident by loss-prevention officers. The value of the stolen clothing was estimated at $360.78.
Graffiti--March 18, 9:00 a.m., 600 block Garland Avenue. An unknown suspect tagged an apartment complex's laundry room door and the washing and drying machines with gang graffiti. A black marker was used. The area was void of fingerprints, police said.
