Public Safety

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Possession--March 24, 5 p.m. Officers arrested a female suspect during a routine traffic stop at Wolfe and Evelyn after they found methamphetamines in her car. When officers ran a check on the suspect's name, they found she was on probation, and subject to "full search status." Officers who searched her residence found more methamphetamines, a scale, packaging materials, cash and ledgers. The contraband was confiscated, and the suspect was arrested and booked in county jail.

Theft--March 26, 6 a.m. Unknown suspects smashed through the passenger window of a car parked at 598 Wolfe Road and made off with $4,290 worth of merchandise. The items taken included a laptop computer, a 19-inch color TV and tickets to the San Francisco Giants opening-day baseball game.

Fraud--March 28, 12:30 p.m. Police are holding a male suspect after he tried to impersonate an account-holder at the Wells Fargo Bank at 1202 E. Arques. When the suspect attempted to remove cash, tellers notified police that the account was closed after learning of the scam from a Milpitas branch earlier in the day. The suspect is being held in county jail and is refusing to name any accomplices.
