Baseball signups

The North County Pony Baseball League will hold signups on April 5 at Ortega Park in Sunnyvale and April 12 at Raynor Park in Sunnyvale, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day.

The league will also hold signups and tryouts on April 19 at Peterson Junior High.

Soccer tryouts

The Woodrows, a girls' under-17 select soccer team, will host tryouts on April 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Los Gatos soccer field. The team is coached by Khalid Al Rasheed, the successful coach of the Los Gatos girls' soccer team.

Soccer camp

Veteran soccer coach Mani Hernandez will head up a summer soccer camp for girls of all ages July 7-11 and 14-18, 9 a.m. to noon each day, at Presentation.

Hernandez, a former professional player who is now a successful girls' soccer coach at Presentation, will be the head instructor at the camp. The cost is $100 per player ($170 for both camps).

Martin wins for Dons

Rick Wiens and Scott Grover knocked in two runs apiece to lead the De Anza Community College baseball team to an 8-2 win over Gavilan in Coast Conference play last week.

Wiens doubled and tripled to knock in two runs for the Dons, and Grover homered and singled to plate a pair.

Jeff Martin was the winning pitcher for De Anza, running his season record to 3-1.

On ice

Ice Chalet Vallco is making ice time available for ice hockey players.

The Chalet hosts a shate-and-shoot Mondays and Fridays, 11 a.m.-noon, and the cost is $5 per person. Pick-up ice hockey games are offered Mondays and Fridays, noon-1 p.m., for $5 per player.

Hockey players must provide their own equipment, and goalies play free.
