March of Dimes seeks child ambassador

The March of Dimes is seeking a 4- to 8-year-old Bay Area child, born fragile but now healthy, to serve as an ambassador to spread the word of the foundation's successes.

The child ambassador will travel throughout the Bay Area and meet with March of Dimes volunteers and government officials to inform them about the nonprofit group's work.

Prior to the campaign, the child will be guest of honor at a reception given by CIGNA HealthCare, the national sponsor of WalkAmerica, which is the largest March of Dimes fundraiser of the year. It is scheduled for April 27.

For more information, call the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation at (415) 788-2202 or (408) 271-4747.
