    Student Selected for NSLC conference

Bijan Shahmirza of Cupertino has been selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference on Law & Advocacy at Stanford University this summer. More than 200 high school students from 35 countries will participate in the 11-day program. During the conference, students will attend special workshops and participate in mock trials where they take on the role of attorneys. Past guest speakers at the event have included Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Supreme Court Justice David Souter and Attorney General Janet Reno.

De Anza to open Development center

This month, De Anza College's Child Development and Education Division will open the Infant and Toddler Development Center, a new day care area with space for 16 infants and toddlers ranging in age from eight months to 3-years-old.

Part of CalWorks program to help low-income De Anza parents succeed in college, the center will double as a laboratory training site for perspective student-teachers.
