    AARP trains senior drivers

    The Sunnyvale Senior Center is offering a driver training class for older motorists April 23 and 30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The 55 Alive class is provided by AARP. A $10 fee must be paid to the Senior Center prior to class. The center is located at 820 W. McKinley Ave. in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 408.730.7360.

    California Theater Center 'Bridge to Terabithia'

    The California Theatre Center will hold a stage version of Katherine Paterson's Newbery Medal-winning 1977 childrens' novel, Bridge to Terabithia, Monday-Friday, until April 19, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., with a special weekend performance April 13 and 20 at 11 a.m. The performances will take place at the Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre, 550 E.     Theater revives 'Oklahoma'

    Sunnyvale Community Players will present the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma from April 12 through May 5, at the Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre, 550 E. Remington Dr. The production is directed by Doug Brook and produced by Susan Buchs, Evelyn Schinski and Marilyn Vaillancourt.

    Participants are needed for Kiwanis Club fundraiser

    The Kiwanis Club of Sunnyvale will put on a silent auction for its annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 and is looking for participants. The event will also include wine and chocolate tasting.

    Composting workshop

    The Home Composting Education Program for Santa Clara County is sponsoring a free class on the basics of backyard and composting on April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sunnyvale Community Center Arboretum, 550 E. Remington Drivez.

    A certified Master Composter volunteers will conduct the course. After the workshop, attendees can purchase a low-cost composting bin by appointment. Pre-registration is required for the workshop. For more information, call 408.730.7262.
