Sunnyvale soccer
The Sunnyvale Soccer AYSO will hold signups for the fall season on May 3 (noon-5 p.m. at Ortega Park), May 14 (7-9 p.m. at Lakewood Park), May 31 (noon-5 p.m. at Town Center Courtyard) and June 14 (noon-5 p.m. at Ponderosa Park).
Players must be 5 by Dec. 31, 1997, and no older than 18 as of Aug. 1, 1997, to be eligible. Players who did not play AYSO soccer last season must provide proof of age.
Players must provide the names and phone numbers of their family doctor and emergency contact person; the name of their health insurance company; and a passport-size photograph.
The league is also looking for volunteer referees for the fall season (students over the age of 12, or adults).

Olympic development
Area soccer players were among those selected for the Olympic Development state teams in the different age groups for girls.
Earning berths on the under-14 team were Kelly Sweitzer and Megan Gurney of Saratoga, Yvonne Bailey of Cupertino and Tatiana Gusmao of Sunnyvale.
The players will now try out for the Olympic Development regional teams, with those qualifiers advancing to national tryouts.
Baseball signups
The North County Pony Baseball League will hold Pony and Colt signups and tryouts on April 19 at Peterson Junior High School.

Youth football
The Sunnyvale-Cupertino Pop Warner football program will hold signups for players and cheerleaders on April 19, May 17, June 21 and July 12, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 737-9654.
