Groundbreaking ceremony for new senior center
Construction will begin on the new 23,000-square-foot senior center at the Sunnyvale Community Center campus at 550 E. Remington Drive. The city of Sunnyvale Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on April 24, 2-4 p.m.

Tow service removes unwanted cars
Sunnyvale Public Safety has started a free springtime tow service for Sunnyvale residents who want to get rid of cars that they no longer use.
Participants must make sure their vehicles are able to be towed (i.e., they must have fourinflated tires) are free of any debris or garbage. Removed vehicles do not qualify as IRS tax donations.

Downtown urban design plan
Community members are invited to provide input on the proposed Downtown Urban Design Plan at the April 23 Sunnyvale City Council meeting. The plan was prepared over a seven-month period with community input and provides a conceptual vision for the development of downtown Sunnyvale.
Copies of the plan are available for public review in the Sunnyvale Public Library at 665 Olive Ave. An overview of the plan will air on KSUN, cable channel 18,
