More than 400 people attended Homestead High School's Sapnay 2002 event, organized by the school's Indian-Pakistani club, on April 6. The evening's program showcased a blend of classical and non-classical dance and song pieces. The audience was entertained by the colorfully dressed participants, who performed their numbers professionally and creatively. The fusion theme was prevalent throughout the program, with many pieces effectively incorporating modern and classical elements.
Other schools, including Lynbrook High, Saratoga High, Bellarmine College Prep and Harker School, participated in the event. The participants were not all Indians or Pakistanis either; many Caucasian and Asian students took part in the event. Co-presidents of the club Ayesha Singh and Meera Seshadri said the main idea was to have fun with the event.
