Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department
Mail Theft--April 2, 12:20 p.m., 10100 block of Parkwood Drive. Unknown suspect(s) have stolen approximately three weeks of mail from the victim's mailbox.
Commercial Burglary--April 2, 4:40 p.m., 10000 block of Pasadena Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) broke into a business and stole miscellaneous items.
Burglary/Auto--April 2, 10:30 a.m., 400 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Victim parked her car in a parking lot. Upon her return, she found the vehicle's rear window smashed and her $3,500 laptop computer missing form the back. No suspects were seen or heard.
Robbery/Strong Arm--March 31, 7:49 p.m., Mary Avenue near Olive Avenue. A 54-year-old female victim was walking from her home to meet her husband for dinner at a local restaurant. She was walking southbound on the west side of the sidewalk on Mary Avenue, approximately 40 feet south of Olive Avenue, when she was shoved to the ground from behind. As she lay on the ground the suspect hit her with his fist in her face and on her head. The suspect tore the purse from her grasp and fled northbound on Mary Avenue. Numerous items taken from the victim were found on the 1000 block of Olive Avenue.
Grand Theft Felony/Auto--March 31, 10:15 a.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. During the nighttime hours, unknown suspect(s) entered several vehicles at local car dealership that are kept unlocked. Point of entry is most likely the driver's door as several vehicles with nothing taken were found with the driver's door open. Once inside, suspect(s) used crescent wrench-type tools and removed both front bucket seats and the long bench seat. The seats were removed from two vehicles. Both were the same make and model. Both vehicles had leather seats. Suspect(s) also removed a stock stereo system and an AM/FM cassette radio. Losses totaled $9,500.
Disorderly Conduct/Prostitution--March 29, 7 p.m., 600 block of Hollenbeck Avenue. Sunnyvale Narcotics/Vice Unit conducted a vice operation at the High Care Health Center. One suspect was arrested for prostitution and one for an outstanding warrant for prostitution. Both suspects were arrested and booked into county jail.
Grand Theft/Commercial--March 29, 2:30 p.m., 600 block of N. Mary Avenue. Four Dell laptop computers were stolen from a local business. The computers were supposed to be disposed of because they are outdated and old. The laptops can't be found and the victim would like a report for documentation only. Losses totaled $14,300.
Auto Burglary--March 29, 2:45 p.m., 10100 block of Finch Avenue. Property was stolen from a car in the parking lot of Cupertino High School.
Petty Theft--March 29, 2 p.m., 10100 block of Finch Ave. Property was stolen from a car in the parking lot of a local high school.
Attempted Auto Theft--March 27, 11:20 a.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Blvd. A student returned to his car in the parking garage of a local community college to find the ignition torn out.
Attempted Burglary--March 27, 10:33 a.m., 1100 block of S. Stelling Road. The victim returned home to find a man in her house. She fled the house. No items were taken.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon--March 26, 12 p.m., 7300 block of Rollingdale Drive. The victim's father beat her about the face with a wooden pole.
Assault/Battery--March 26, 11:00 a.m., 19300 block of Bollinger Road. A student at a local middle school struck another student in the head, and kicked him in the ribs.
