    State of the City coming up soon

    The Mayor's State of the City address will take place May 6 at the corner of Murphy and Washington Avenues. Multi-cultural entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. Community awards followed by the Mayor's speech will begin at 1 p.m. Afterwards, a reception will take place. Call 408.730.7535 for more details

    Sunnyvale adds Safety Officer

    Last Wednesday, Daniel Moskowitz, 23, became the newest sworn officer in Sunnyvale's Public Safety Department. Moskowitz graduated from the Gavilan College's academy. He will now enroll in Sunnyvale's in-house training. Moskowitz's addition brings the Department's force up 170 sworn officers.

    Volunteers needed for classes

    Help someone on their path to becoming a US. citizen. To become naturalized, applicant must go through interviews. They are asked questions about American history, government, and about themselves. They also must write down dictated sentences.

    A class on Saturday, May 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. will allow prospective citizens to rehearse this process. Volunteers are need to ask prepared questions and dictate prepared sentences.
