Council approves downtown renovation

Sunnyvale holds citywide garage sale





    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Vandalism--April 11, 6:00 a.m., 600 block Harrison Ct. An unknown suspect dismantled bricks from a park pathway and threw them against concrete pillars. About 12 of the 30 bricks removed were broken. Repairs and replacements were estimated at $200.

    Residential burglary--April 10, 7:22 p.m., 700 block Londonderry Dr. An unknown suspect entered a home without permission and took several items. Losses included $40 in coins and $150 in CD's.

    Attempted Residential Burglary--April 10, 6:00 p.m., 1400 block Mallard Wy. An unknown suspect attempted to pry open the victim's front sliding door without success. The suspect then attempted to pull open the victim's garage door but was again unsuccessful.

    Commercial Burglary--April 9, 1:18 p.m., 500 block El Camino Real. A man entered an electronics shop with intent of committing theft. The suspect tried to return stolen property for money. He had in his possession tools used to removed compact discs, DVDs and Nintendo games from their holders. He also had two magnets used to demagnetize the security devices on the items. The suspect had earlier been told he was not allowed in this chain's stores.

    Forgery--April 6, 2:19 p.m., 1200 block S. Mary Ave. A man entered a bank, attempting to cash a check made out to someone else. The check had a stop payment on it as it was reported lost the previous year. The manager notified police and the suspect fled.

    Grand Theft--March 29, 7:56 a.m., 1100 block N. Mathilda Ave. An unknown person removed over $7,000 of electrical wire from a job site.
